Next: Season 2 of The Penthouse

I could not find Season 2 of The Penthouse in Viu.

Actually, I do not like Season 2 as the story no longer focus on Min Seol A's murder case and I am not intrigued at all by Na Ae Gyo - the character in disguise.

I prefer Season 3 except for the meaningless ending.

Therefore, Season 1 is the best of the trilogy!

I have soft spot for 2 villain characters in The Penthouse

I have soft spot for 2 villain characters in The Penthouse.

Guess who they are?

Clue is the 2 villains are daughter and mum duo.

Is it Bae Ro Na and Oh Yoon Hee, Jenny and Kang Mari or Ha Eun Byeol and Cheon Seo Jin?

The first daughter and mum duo as villains is Ro Na and Yoon Hee.

I have never like Ro Na's attitude and behavior as well as her character from the very beginning and for the fact that Yoon Hee betrayed Shim Su Ryeon eventually in Season 1, can they be considered villains?

The second daughter and mum duo as villains is Jenny and Kang Mari.

Jenny was mean and nasty towards Ro Na way before both of them entered Cheong A Arts School.

Instead of nurturing or guiding her daughter, Kang Mari was mirroring her daughter.

She was as mean and nasty towards Ro Na and Yoon Hee.

They are villains right from the start.

In fact, the first part of the story focuses on this daughter and mum duo - Jenny and Kang Mari as villains.

The third and last duo is Eun Byeol and Seo Jin.

Yes, my soft spot goes for the two of them......

I do have my reasons....

My favourite characters: Min Seol A and Shim Su Ryeon

I have finished watching Season 1 of The Penthouse.

While Bae Ro Na is a symbolism of desire or nafs, I want to point out my two favourite characters.

Firstly is Min Seol A and secondly is Shim Su Ryeon.

Min Seol A is the biological daughter of SSR and her first husband.

After her birth, Joo Dan Tae switched her with another baby who was sick because JDT has evil plans to ruin SSR's life.

JDT's secretary saved the baby by sending her to Hope Orphanage.

The baby is unfortunate and fortunate to begin with.

She is unfortunate to be switched with another baby, separated from her biological mother and discarded by JDT.

She is fortunate to be saved by JDT's secretary and therefore, she survived and live her life in the orphanage.

However, her life was full of hardship.

I would say that Min Seol A is the most unfortunate character in this drama: The Penthouse.

Her silly and unnecessary mistake was being blunt and confrontational towards JDT's daughter who was triggered and took revenge towards her.

Min Seol A was the target of bully by the teenagers or her tutees in Hera Palace thereon, spearheaded by JDT's daughter who was particularly spiteful towards her. 

She is poor and therefore, powerless.

Min Seol A is a symbolism of the unfortunate and the oppressed.

Shim Su Ryeon is the biological mother of Min Seol A when she married her first husband.

Her first husband was murdered by Joo Dan Tae without SSR's knowledge.

In Season 1, we only knew that JDT was bitter because SSR broke their engagement and decided to get married with the man of her love.

JDT took revenge by hiring gunmen who attacked the couple in their home and shot SSR's husband to death.

Being a psychopath, JDT cut off one of the fingers of SSR's husband that holds the wedding ring and the severed finger was made into a gruesome keepsake.

Shim Su Ryeon is an admirable, beautiful, classy, dignified, elegant, firm, gentle, heroinic, intelligent, judicious, kind, ladylike, mature, noble, polite, queen-like character.

SSR is collected and calculated in nature despite the pain and anger she is withholding while planning her moves strategically in secrecy and softness.

She is an unbreakable protagonist whom I admire greatly.

She is rich and resourceful, thus she is capable of making use of her fortune to good use by uncovering immorality.

Therefore, she is capable of rooting out corruption and defending justice.

Shim Su Ryeon is a symbolism of hope and humanity.

Revisiting and Rewatching: The Penthouse

I am revisiting and rewatching The Penthouse.

I have just finished watching the 1st episode from Season 1.

Right from the 1st episode when Bae Ro Na threw tantrum at home after being confronted by Oh Yoon Hee, I feel like slapping Bae Ro Na.

Bae Ro Na is really getting on my nerves with her stubborn streak.

She is so self-centered and does not care at all about her single-parent mum who is struggling to make ends meet.

For the fact that the mum works hard to put food on the table while struggling with limited financial means, she could not even fulfil her mum's hope that is to focus on her academics. 

I remembered very well that I have never liked her character in The Penthouse because of her stubbornness and self-centeredness.

As well as her vengefulness and retaliation.

Ha Yoon Chul is another character that pisses me off.

I remembered very well that I am utterly disappointed with his character in The Penthouse because he has no principles, weak-hearted and repeat the same mistakes like a habit.

However, from the 1st episode, I am appalled and pissed off with his attitude and behavior towards his wife, Cheon Seo Jin.

He purposely shamed and humiliated Cheon Seo Jin in front of their guests at their own house.

That is so mean and cruel as a husband while hosting the Hera Club party with his wife.

He did not care at all about respecting and protecting his wife's dignity in front of his guests even though it is understandably that he was not in love with his wife.

I can feel the pain and resentment that Cheon Seo Jin is harboring.

It is unfair to Cheon Seo Jin who tried her best to be a sweet wife even though it is true that she is superficial.

Cheon Seo Jin voiced out about his attitude and behavior in private but she was dismissed and disregarded.

Definitely, Ha Yoon Chul's disrespect towards her is unacceptable at all.

I feel sorry for Cheon Seo Jin.

Both Bae Ro Na and Ha Yoon Chul are the first 2 characters who drew my attention in the bad light.

(As this is not my first time watching The Penthouse, I already knew the story. However, I forgot about the details.)

I personally feel that both Bae Ro Na and Ha Yoon Chul break Oh Yoo Hee's heart to the core.

Both of them put Oh Yoon Hee into terrible trouble and in fact, into more horrible trouble.

Sadly, Oh Yoon Hee ended up in the worst mess ever.

Because of that, she is the first among all the main characters from Hera Palace to die tragically.

Both Bae Ro Na and Ha Yoon Chul do not deserve Oh Yoon Hee's love and devotion at all!

Han Ji Pyeong deserves to be with Yoon Hye Jin (from Hometown Cha Cha Cha).
