Don't forget to read
If your energy levels start to flag, don't forget that reading is part of a writer's job. Setting aside an hour or so at the end of each day to read a novel or nonfiction book is time well spent. If you can also read on your commute, that will fill your mental 'inbox' with thoughts and ideas. And the rhythms and patterns of other writers' prose will also enrich and inspire your own style.
